Founder and Program Director
As the visionary behind LexLiftKC, Julia develops the literacy curriculum, leads student instruction, and manages all aspects of programming, funding, and outreach. With a background in secondary education and a passion for closing the literacy gap in urban schools, they’ve created a high-impact, student-first model that blends data with real-world relevance. Samantha Baker, MAT
Literacy Intervention Specialist
Provides direct support to small groups of students, focusing on decoding, comprehension, and evidence-based writing. Works with the Program Director to implement structured lessons aligned to EOC and ACT standards. This role ensures students receive consistent, scaffolded support tailored to their individual needs.

Breonna Ward M.Ed.,
Family & Community Liaison
Serves as the main point of contact for parents, families, and community partners. This role helps onboard new students, schedules family consults, and ensures that communication between home and program stays supportive, transparent, and culturally responsive. Also supports outreach for community-based events and partnerships.
